Annual Perception Study

Four discrete regional studies are conducted annually covering the equities markets of Asia, Europe, Latin America and the U.S. For each regional study we adopt a triangular approach by asking each of the leading companies, sell-side and buy-side individuals to evaluate several aspects of investor relations communication. With growing participation and a consistent methodology, we provide a reliable benchmark by which companies can assess the change in perception over time. Each study includes detailed rankings of "best practice" across several key criteria used to measure the effectiveness of a company's IR communications. A company can therefore quickly identify the strengths and challenges of their IR strategy relative to their peer group.

Alongside the rankings of "best practice" we provide IROs the opportunity to compare their company practice to that of their peers. The areas covered include resource allocation, the participation of senior executives in IR, the preferred means of communication with the buy and sell side, and who the most highly recognised investment professionals are.

Custom Perception Study

Institutional Investor Research Group conducts tailor-made perception studies on behalf of individual companies. The aim of these studies is to provide strategic guidance for investor communications through a better understanding of how effectively the information needs of key sell-side individuals and/or buy-side investment professionals are being met.

Through discussion with you we will determine the objective and scope of the study and how best to achieve your precise needs. We will devise a series of questions to satisfy that objective and suggest a list of potential candidates to interview.

Whenever appropriate, the findings of the project can be compared to normative data developed from our annual study of investor relations to lend a broader perspective to the company's position in the investment community.
